SPECIFIC SPECIALITIES

INTRODUCTION

There are a wide range of specialties to choose from that will add excitement and experience to your life. The day you say I have learnt enough is the day you stop living!

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

These programmes are designed to educate and/or train students in the practices, understanding, principles and/or specific applications, which include, but not limited to, specific environmental conditions; rebreathers; overhead environments; shark and other aquatic animals; photography, equipment; oxygen cleaning etc.

PREREQUISITES/CROSS OVER

To be a minimum of age as detailed in the Speciality.
Documented proof of prerequisite requirements needs to be presented to the appointed Dive Centre for approval prior to any in water training.
To start the programme/s, have a minimum number of logged hour's underwater time as specified in the detailed speciality training programme.
Completed and passed the relevant academic Quick Quiz and Exam.

Rebreathers: The prerequisites are detailed for each specific unit in the programme.

COURSE CONTENT

On-line e-learning academic presentations, quizzes, exam and practical skills as detailed.
On-line e-learning academic presentations, quizzes and exam for each speciality.
Confined and open water sessions, as detailed in the specific speciality programme.
Rebreathers: either as a stand alone or in addition to the skills required in the core level programme/s.

The student will be required to complete a quick written quiz with the instructor prior to the commencement of any in-water training.

IN WATER TRAINING

Confined Water - as detailed in the specific speciality programme.
Open Water - as detailed in the specific speciality programme.

CERTIFICATION

The minimum logged hours, as detailed have been completed.
All confined and /or open water skills have been acknowledged and accepted on-line (through the RAID web site) as mastered by the certifying RAID instructor and student.
The RAID Dive Centre has confirmed certification on-line through the RAID web site.
Specialities: Only a RAID registered renewed RAID Speciality instructor may sign off student skills.
