SIDEMOUNT INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM

The Sidemount Instructor Program allows RAID Instructors to teach RAID divers to use sidemount equipment to safely:

• Dive to their maximum current certification depth but may not exceed a maximum depth of 40 metres/130 feet.
• Use two correctly configured sidemount cylinders.
• Use air, nitrox, oxygen and trimix (where applicable)
• The END/EAD for trimix must not exceed 30 metres/100 feet.
• The PO2 of any gas used may not exceed 1.4.
• Only complete no decompression dives.
• Rule of thirds (or sixths where appropriate) must be strictly observed when managing gas

PREREQUISITES FOR ENROLMENT ON THE SIDEMOUNT INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM

• Minimum 18 years old.
• Certified and in status as a RAID Open Circuit Instructor.
• Certified as a RAID Nitrox and RAID Deep 40 Instructor.
• Certified as a RAID Sidemount Diver or equivalent.
• Have logged at least 25 hours or 50 dives using sidemount.
• Certified and current Rescue Breathing/CPR/BLS Training and Oxygen Provider Instructor
• Submit a dive medical passed by a certified diving physician.
• Submit proof of liability insurance where applicable.
